It’s nearly time for some of the Truckcraft team to briefly relocate to Peterborough to attend the 5th Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution Exhibition. At this prestigious event, we’ll be displaying our range of market-leading truck bodies and technology designed for the frozen and chilled food and pharmaceutical sectors.
The exhibition is hosted at the East of England Arena in Peterborough and runs from 25th – 26th of June. The great and good of the temperature-controlled logistics sector will be in attendance as well as potential clients, industry commentators and related suppliers. It promises to be a memorable and enjoyable affair.
And the big news is that Truckcraft has been shortlisted for honours at the TCS&D Awards on 25th June. Even making the final cut is a significant achievement but, of course, we hope to bag the big prizes.
It’ll be a great round off to a landmark year at Truckcraft. An award would be a fitting reward for the hard work our team have put in developing some genuinely ground-breaking products for the temperature-controlled sector.
We’ve been shortlisted in the following award categories:
The Innovation Award
This award is open to any business operating in temperature-controlled logistics who have developed products that are pushing the boundaries. The judges look for a consistent commitment from firms who are creating and adopting innovative ideas over several years.
We felt our new low-entry, aerodynamic refrigerated body with the refrigeration unit incorporated within the ‘Luton dome’ fitted the bill. This product is bristling with innovative features, including an internal bulkhead that allows the front of the body to act as a freezer and the rear to act as a chiller.
The versatile design is further enhanced by using TRAILAR solar technology. Panels on the roof provide solar energy for the vehicle’s ancillary equipment such as the fridge or freezer. For the temperature-controlled sector, this is a real game changer
Early indications show potential fuel savings of up to 10% proven by testing similar vehicles that use TRAILAR’s solar technology.
The Environmental & Sustainability Award
The winner in this category will have a demonstrable history of reducing the environmental impact of their operations. It’s a crucial category both for the industry and for the environment. The award recognises the need for businesses to create products that have sustainability at their heart. It’s an issue that’s very important to the Truckcraft Bodies team.
That’s why we design products that aim to reduce the impact on the environment. We believe our new rigid refrigerated truck has eco-credentials that provide huge sustainable benefits while delivering the features and benefits the temperature controlled sector needs.
The addition of TRAILAR solar panels combined with state-of-the-art internal electronics allows for year-round maximum charging efficiency. This is especially important during the critical winter months where light is limited and it’s challenging to obtain sufficient light energy to recharge the batteries. In our TRAILAR enabled trucks, harvested solar energy powers all ancillary equipment on the vehicle, including the refrigeration unit. This, in turn, reduces fuel consumption by up to 10% and significantly reduces emissions.
In short, it’s a refrigerated vehicle that does it’s core job brilliantly and goes much further. It saves resources, promotes cleaner air, and utilises cutting-edge innovation. It truly is a truck that cares for its owner and the environment. It’s eminently award-worthy.
The Refrigerated Rigid Award
The judges in this category are looking for consistent, high-quality build standards enhanced by innovation that benefits the temperature-controlled sector. Value for money is also a factor.
At Truckcraft, we saw a gap in the market for a low entry refrigerated vehicle that offers a versatile alternative option in the temperature-controlled sector. In collaboration with our partners at TRAILAR we have designed an innovative product that meets that need.
An aerodynamic Luton refrigerated body with an attractive modern design that also promotes fuel efficiency. The low-entry body makes loading and unloading much more efficient, and a side door further improves access. Our vans can be tailored to suit varied needs with multiple racking and shelving options available. With bodies that have a chiller, freezer or a combination of both these trucks define versatility.
No matter which build variant a client selects, the addition of TRAILAR solar assistance is always available, offering the reduced running costs and environmental advantages this unique technology provides.
Overall, our approach to refrigerated rigid trucks is one that directly addresses the challenges of the 21st century. With ease of use, innovative technology, cost reduction and a clear focus on the environment, it’s a truck that’s match ready for the temperature-controlled sector of the future.
It’s fantastic to be recognised in so many of the TCS&D award categories. It shows just how feature-packed our range of refrigerated trucks has become.
We’re chuffed to have designed and developed products that care for their owners, their drivers, the company accountant and, crucially, our planet. To say we’re proud of our achievements is an understatement. That’s why the Truckcraft Team is optimistic of further recognition, and we hope you’ll support us.
If you’re in the area, we are exhibiting on 25th & 26th June on Stand E51 at the East of England Arena. Do stop by and say hello. We’ll be delighted to show you our temperature-controlled product range, demonstrate our remarkable technology, and answer any questions you may have.
Suffice to say we’re really looking forward to our trip to Peterborough and the Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution Exhibition 2019. Whether we’re successful or not in the awards, it’s always a pleasure to meet our clients and the public and to proudly fly the flag for the Truckcraft Bodies brand.
